Tour Stop: Dementional by Tonya Cannariato

Welcome to my stop at the Dementional Book Tour, hosted by First Rule PR.

I'm sitting down tonight with Mark and Sarah Inman to find out what it was that drew them together and kept them together through a disorienting trip through dimensions. Mark, how did you meet?

"I was a senior at Johns Hopkins and needed my last humanities credits to graduate on time. I had put it off, but thought maybe the technology in Hollywood film class would be a laugh. Our first class, though, I was thoroughly distracted by this vivacious girl."

"Don't be silly; I was a nervous freshman and couldn't stop my motor-mouth." Sarah is cute with her denial, but she's blushing and cuddling into Mark's arms, fiddling with the cloth on his slacks.

"I'm surprised I passed the class at all. I never had eyes for anyone but you."

"Really? You were such a serious student, I can't imagine you actually struggled."

"Believe it or not; my transcript has a C on it because of you."

Sweet story, guys, but there's been a lot of water under the bridge since you met. What do you think it was that allowed you to find each other through so many different dimensions?

"I've been considering that since we got back. I suspect the Higgs attraction factor on the sub-atomic level is affected by the soul-level connection between individuals. So, since Sarah is such a huge part of my life and so important to me on such a deep level, there is something akin to a gravity well between us."

OK. Sarah, do you want to give a go at translating that for the rest of us?

"Sure. I think the common phrase you're looking for is soul-mates. If what we underwent was a soul's journey it's only sensible to think that our souls would easily find their matches, no matter the circumstances."

That's slightly more intelligible, but the variation of the focus of your answers would seem to indicate you're more opposite than either of your answers would indicate. How do you balance the differences in your perspectives?

"I like being with a man who challenges me to think logically, and helps me be the best person I can be. I see now, based on all the experiences we had together, that I have so many options to consider in terms of what might make me happy in a career. What underlies all those options, though, is that I'm able to arrange my life in concert with his; that we're able to work as a team to achieve new, interesting things."

Mark threads his fingers through Sarah's and studies their joined hands for a minute before he answers. "At one time, I thought I was simply not cut out for relationships. I still can't say I'm the easiest person to live with, but I very much appreciate the ability Sarah has to unlock me from my mind. She is one of very few people I know who is able to push away blinders I'm not aware of in myself to broaden my perspective and understanding. It would be easy to underestimate her since her orientation tends to be more artistic and creative, but she makes intuitive leaps that are, oximoronically, logical."

That sounds more romantic than scientific, to me. What do you think will be the key to the ongoing success of your relationship?

Mark and Sarah look at each other, nod, shrug, and chime in together, "Communication."

Thanks for taking the time, guys, and thanks to Night Owl Reads for the opportunity to share a little more of your story.
